Description

Nova Scotians have been enjoying fermented foods and drinks since the earliest days of European settlement. Saurkraut, cider, beer, bread, and more all have long and fascinating histories here.

In this program Philip Moscovitch, author of the book Adventures in Bubbles and BrineAdventures In Bubbles And Brine: East Coast Practitioners Of Fermentation-based Food And Drink-from Beer And Wine To Cheese And Sauerkraut, shares the fascinating histories of Nova Scotian fermented foods and drinks, talks about people reviving and expanding these traditions, answers questions, and demonstrates how to make some of your own ferments at home.
